Supplies needed:
- Craft bag from the craft store, usually around $2
- Dye
- Ruler
- Pins
- Tub
- Other supplies needed, not pictured:
- Salt
- Stick to stir dye solution
- 3 gallons of hot water
Start by getting your craft bag wet.
Then you will want to measure your ombre lines. I keep mine 3 inches apart + find that four make a good gradient.
Pin your lines on either side of the bag.
Using 3 gallons of water + salt to agitate the dye, mix your dye.
Dip your bag in the dye, all of the way to the top set of pins, let the bag soak in the dye for 30 seconds
Then raise your bag out of the dye to the next set of pins, letting it soak for 1 minute this time.
After 1 minute, raise your bag to the next set of pins, letting it soak for 3 minutes. Finally let the bottom of the bag soak for 7 minutes.
Remove the pins + rinse your bag using cool water. Rinse until the water runs clear.
Let your bag air dry until it is mostly dry. Then heat set the dye by finished the drying in the dryer. Make sure to heat set the dye, otherwise when you wash it, the dye will run.
Remove from the dryer, iron + enjoy!
