I love this idea, but let's not limit ourselves to our teens and tweens. Kids truly learn by example - we all need to turn it off and unplug and get out and DO SOMETHING!

We need to go back to basic and train our children on doing thing productive voluntarily, things that will contribute to the growth of our nations.

I think leading by example is probably the ticket.. kids smell a rat if you're coming across all worthy...

I agree that sometimes this stuff is too in their face and they run a mile. Better to do stuff together perhaps, and start at home like helping with the housework - my four year old strangely loves dusting... - at least that way its not always doing something to get something but more just to be helpful (although eh gets a spontaneous treat to help things along afterwards).
